Coming to Denmark
Aarhus University has an International Center with its own website with information for new staff coming from abroad. One of the most important things for you to check out on the International Center website is the information on practical and administrative matters, and we urge you to read and follow the instructions that are relevant for your situation and job category.
However, some of the local information concerning Aarhus may not apply for staff living at Foulum or Aarslev.
You have probably received a folder with information about various practicalities related to working in Foulum or Aarslev, but you can always ask your assigned buddy or at the secretariat, if you have further questions.
Foulum has its own local help desk, and you can access the website here. Here you can get assistance with registration, housing, taxation, insurance, pension, Danish courses etc. This service is aimed at international employees and PhD students, their families, and guests connected to Foulum. In Aarslev there is no help desk, but here Margit Rosenlund Hansen will assist you with practical and administrative issues.
You can find useful information for FOOD employees at the site for FOOD staff. Most of the text is in Danish, but there are also some guides in English, and you can ask your buddy, supervisor or the Secretariat in case you have any questions.
